Golden Harvest encouraged Jackie to work with new directors, instead of handling those duties himself, in the hopes of speeding up shooting after the lengthy production of Chan's epic ARMOUR OF GOD II: OPERATION CONDOR in 1991. Stanley Tong was a stuntman-turned-director and he and Chan got along very well during the making of this third entry in Chan's POLICE STORY series. Jackie returned to his familiar HK cop role, but this time was paired with Maylasian beauty-queen-turned-action-actress Michelle Yeoh (freshly divorced and returning to filmmaking). Their wonderful chemistry, along with new shooting locations in Maylasia gave POLICE STORY III: SUPER COP a fresh feeling and went on to net Chan a "Best Actor" trophy at the 1993 Taiwanes...

This is my hand drawn recreation of the classic poster for Louis Feuillade's 1915 french serial, "Les Vampires." I could not find a hi-res image of this poster online, so I did my best to recreate it from scratch, down to the artist's signature. My assumption is that the image must be in the public domain by now, as I have not seen it for sale anywhere, or even preserved digitally. Little is known about the original artist, other than that they worked in Europe around the turn of the century and simply signed their work as "Harford." The image is replicated three times, and must have been repeated by hand rather than reproduced mechanically because of the variations in the line widths.

Ronny Yu's 1993 epic Hong Kong romantic fantasy THE BRIDE WITH WHITE HAIR (Brigitte Lin Ching Hsia and Leslie Cheung) bursts with glorious action and intenisty, ...along with a touch of gore and nudity.

Jackie Chan was unhappy with the direction of THE PROTECTOR and returned to Hong Kong with is own idea for a police actioner. POLICE STORY was the result, and it remains one of Chan's all-time classics. From the high-energy fights, to the death-defying stuntwork to the engaging story, this Hong Kong action classic earned Best Picture at the 1986 HK Film Awards and rightfully so. It spawned 3 sequels, one spin-off, a HK TV series, and even two loose "reboots".
