Golden Harvest encouraged Jackie to work with new directors, instead of handling those duties himself, in the hopes of speeding up shooting after the lengthy production of Chan's epic ARMOUR OF GOD II: OPERATION CONDOR in 1991. Stanley Tong was a stuntman-turned-director and he and Chan got along very well during the making of this third entry in Chan's POLICE STORY series. Jackie returned to his familiar HK cop role, but this time was paired with Maylasian beauty-queen-turned-action-actress Michelle Yeoh (freshly divorced and returning to filmmaking). Their wonderful chemistry, along with new shooting locations in Maylasia gave POLICE STORY III: SUPER COP a fresh feeling and went on to net Chan a "Best Actor" trophy at the 1993 Taiwanes...
