The intense 'economic pressure' placed upon 'poor fishermen' by much more 'wealthy and often affluent' bosses or 'middle-men' ~ within the Shark Finning Industry is fueling the trade of Shark Fins Worldwide. Comments made by Fisheries that Sharks are not targeted species and are merely an act of 'Bycatch' should in most instances be dismissed. Fools should not be taken likely ~ this is a TARGETED species ~ and due to the economic demand ~ most often it is the FINS to GO first off the carcass...

Freshly 'shucked' oysters, sautéed whelks with aioli and 1/2 a dozen fresh prawns or langoustine. That is the 'treat from the sea' that the French call "Fruits De La Mer"... BUT just 'how long can all this this 'gargantuan gastonomy' last...? I created this print in Florence, Italy while taking a serigraphy course. I care deeply about the ocean and wanted to make a piece that could portray what is happening today.
