This was a more abstract piece, taken from a photo that zoomed into the rocks on the beach at Marazion, Cornwall. I took the colours a little further to make it a real statement piece.

The Rockpool is at the northern end of the Strand, it is a salt water pool continually pumped from Halifax Bay. This is the one time I have seen the Rockpool without swimmers or pumps operating giving a perfectly flat water reflection, as there was a performance by PolyToxic from Brisbane presenting ‘Trade Winds’, about to take place. The warren beach at Folkestone is the one the tourist don't see, but the locals know. Its surrounded by natural scrubland, and that in turn is ringed by the white cliffs of Dover. Its a very natural place considering the size of Folkestone (Kent, UK) that lies just out of sight behind the viewer. In the distance is Samphire Hoe - a flat piece of land below the cliffs created from the spoil from digging the channel tunnel. This version is painted in oil on a 12 x 12 inch board, based on photos I've taken of the area.
