This locomotive was built at theGreat Western Railway's Swindon works, entering service in 1925 as one of the most powerful engines on the British railway system. It was withdrawn from servuce in 1964 - a long and illustrious career and was soon bought for preservation.

A Baldwin Steam locomotive approaching the platform, This image has been given an impressionist oil painting finish. Built in Philadelphia in 1930. This 4-6-2 tender loco was destined for South Africa where it worked hauling limestone at Port Elizabeth. In the early 1990s it was purchased by the Brecon Mountain Railway and was restored between 1993 and 1997. It now hauls passengers on the scenic line from Pant near Merthyr Tydfil to Torpantau in the Brecon Beacons.This image has been produced in the style of an impressionist painting. With faint echoes of the famous 1945 film, a couple meet on a railway station in wartime. This image was captured during a very wet WW2 re-enactment at the Mid Hants Railway.

The couple of people waiting on the station today had a very long wait due to the snow.
