I decided to put my ideas and skills to the test and create some abstract art, with the help of Photoshop and online tutorials. Not too difficult to make and the nice thing about it is that you never know what you are going to get until the end. Thus it is always a surprise of what you intend of doing beforehand and what it ends up looking like. With some designs just when you think it is not going to work, it suddenly turns out to be just what the doctor ordered. I call these designs of mine the twister designs because of the twisting colour effects I use in this art. It is contrary forces that may be complementary, interconnected and interdependent from each other in nature, while they also interrelate to each other. According to the Chinese cosmology, the universe creates itself from material energy in chaos, but at the same moment it’s organized into cycles of yin and yang that eventually formed into objects and lives. I added 12 sides around the yin-yang symbol (called a dodecagon) that symbolize the 12 Chinese zodiac signs. Hope you enjoy this design on a ball effect. #pieterhb

NASA which was established in 1958 was so nice as to allow their entire collection of images, sounds and video available to be publicly searchable online and to use it any way you like. You can literally spend days going through all the images alone and enjoy some of the most spectacular images of space you have ever seen in your life. This particular image of our beautiful galaxy is just one of them to appreciate with print on demand products.

This art is the front cover of an Afrikaans series of books from the 1980's, called "Die Swart Luiperd Reeks". The authors of this particular series was Braam le Roux and Meiring Fouche. This cover is the 43rd story book in this exciting series. Red, blue and yellow filters were used for this art.

Chess is a game that is played by millions of people worldwide. This game is believed to be derived from the Indian game chaturanga, sometime before the 7th century. The first generally recognized World Chess Champion, Wilhelm Steinitz, claimed his title in 1886. For me, it is the ultimate game on earth, with the amount of possible legal board positions worked out to be a factor of ten multiplied with itself, hundred and twenty times!
