The 2016 Tall Ships Regatta gathered at the Port of Blyth in Northumberland for the first time in its sixty years of existence. Each night there was a fireworks display over the river and this image has caught the silhouette of a ship against the background of the fireworks with a crew member standing in the rigging and blue spotlights lighting up the evening sky.

Situated on the outskirts of St Austell on the South Coast of Cornwall is Charlestown Harbour, an unspoilt, original Grade II Listed Harbour. Earl of Pembroke is a wooden, three-masted barque, currently used for maritime festivals, charters, charity fund raising, corporate entertaining and film work. The U.S. Brig Niagara was one of nine ships that visited the Fairport Harbor tall ships festival in 2016. It is a replica of the relief flagship of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry. It was one of nine ships used to defeat a British squadron of six vessels during the War of 1812. The Niagara sails the Great Lakes, preserving and interpreting the story of the Battle of Lake Erie, and acting as an ambassador in her capacity as the flagship of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Its home port is in Erie PA.
