Amazing Giant Pacific Octopus

The giant Pacific octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini), is a large marine cephalopod and is the largest octopus species.

Enteroctopus dofleini, also known as the giant Pacific octopus or North Pacific giant octopus, is a large marine cephalopod belonging to the genus Enteroctopus. Its spatial distribution includes the coastal North Pacific, along California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, Russia, northern Japan, and Korea.

Part one of Tentacle Week 2018! I recently visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium and marveled at all the tentacled critters on display, especially the Giant Pacific Octopus!

Fun Facts About Giant Pacific Octopuses 1. Giant Pacific octopuses can grow to 29.5 feet (9 m) wide from the tip of one arm to the tip of another and 44 pounds (20 kg). 2. Giant Pacific octopuses can change color in one-tenth of a second. 3. Giant Pacific octopuses can be found more than 330 feet (100 m) underwater.
