It's a lovely summer day and this couple is enjoying a lovely stroll down quaint Thames Street in Newport Rhode Island. What makes this image especially appealing are the rainbow colors of the buildings.

Thames Street is the center of Newport, Rhode Island's downtown/waterfront area. There are many quaint shops, restaurants, historic homes and bed and breakfasts. A great place for window shopping or just taking a stroll.

What attracted me to this harbor scene in Newport, Rhode Island was the colorful boats and the interesting shape of the folded sail.

Guarded by a gate for privacy, we can peek into this beautiful garden with the lovely garden clock.

Greenhouses give the gardener a jump on spring by allowing them to start planting early. This charming greenhouse with it wooden bench, pots of flowers and clay flowerpots ready for plants to go into them is sure to please any gardener.

This greenhouse with its sheltered environment makes it possible to grow plants that could not grow outdoors and makes it possible for us to enjoy these beautiful cactus.

Bonsai is Japanese art form using miniature trees grown in containers. Bonsai trees are not dwarf plants; they are actually full size trees grown in a shallow confined pot which produces a miniature rather than a dwarf. Bonsai trees can be of almost any variety. Bonsai are not actually indoor trees except for the tropical variety. They do best if grown outside and only brought indoors for a few days at a time for display purposes.

This greenhouse with its sclimate-controlled environment makes it possible to start plants before the start of their actual growing season. Peeking into this greenhouse, we see a collection of interesting cactus.

Lovely old town Alexandria Va is the perfect place to stroll, window shop in the quaint shops or just read a book on this beautiful sunny morning.
