Sandsend Beach Sandsend beach is popular with fossil hunters, fishermen and walkers. In summer an area of the beach is zoned off for swimming. A café, gift shop and pub can be found close to the beach. The rocks on this lovely beach make the perfect foreground interest for a landscape photograph. Whitby Whale Bones Arch Framing Whitby Abbey And Church The iconic whale bones that give us photographers a natural frame to place the Abbey on the opposite cliff across the harbour. To recognise this tradition and the town's important whaling history, a whale bone arch was erected on Whitby's West Cliff in 1853. The archway frames a view of the town's quaint cottages and cobbled streets as well as the ruins of the medieval Whitby Abbey, located across the bay on the East Cliff. Whitby Abbey And Tombstones A perfect backdrop for Halloween. Photograph taken from within the Churchyard that overlooks Whitby Abbey to one side and the harbor to the other. I found the gravestones framed the Abbey perfectly and added a spooky bit of eeriness that already surrounds the Abbey given it's links to Dracula. May Beck near Whitby, North Yorkshire, is a small but popular picnic place. Set in an open setting with sheep grazing on grass which leads down to the stony little stream of May Beck. Paths lead from here to Falling Foss and through the forest on to the moors.

Saltwick Bay is a northeast-facing bay situated 1 mile south of Whitby. Above the bay is Whitby Holiday Park with the Cleveland Way cliff top path running through it. Access to the beach is via a footpath just beyond the park's gate. The path has suffered from some erosion; in places can be quite steep and also very slippery when wet. The path leads down to the sandy beach which gives way to rock and slate scar at either end. To the left is Saltwick Nab and to the right is Black Nab.

926 ‘Repton’ was completed at Eastleigh in May 1934. After a spell at Bournemouth it operated from Fratton (Portsmouth) depot until the Waterloo-Portsmouth route was electrified in July 1937. It was then one of ten ‘Schools’ locomotives transferred to Bournemouth as replacements for ‘King Arthurs’ on the London expresses. It remained at Bournemouth for most of the war, being used on the lighter expresses and, after the war, on inter-regional trains. Further electrification caused more moves of these locomotives and ‘Repton’ was withdrawn from Basingstoke depot, with the remaining members of the class, on 30 December, 1962, just 2 years after a major service.
