The Great Wall of China. Chairman Mao said that you were only a Man, once you had walked on the Great Wall. This is a photo of an attendant at the entrance of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Melbourne, Australia, The Waterwall at the entrance marks the beginning of the Water Trail. The Waterwall runs separately to the moat system, with its own water holding tank and treatment plant. Rain water is pumped from underground tanks into the Waterwall holding tank and then through a treatment plant to the Waterwall head. The water cascades down the glass, before flowing back into the holding tank to repeat the cycle. The constant flow creates a natural filter between the bustle of the city and the calm seclusion and ambience of the Gallery. At the time when the gallery opened, Victoria was an independent colony for just ten years, but in...

Close up view of one of the Lions in the Ngorongoro Crater Game Reserve, Tanzania, Africa. ( It was raining when I took this photo, and that is why the Lion is having a "bad hair day " !! ) The Lion is the largest of the 3 big cats in Africa. Prides consist of 6 to a dozen females and thir cubs, with one or more dominant males. Most of the hunting is dome by the females, but normally the males will be the first to eat after a "kill". They seize their prey by the throat and suffocating it. The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of the Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. Their proximity to one another has made the site a popular tourist attraction. The stacks have been formed by erosion, and are all different heights and thicknesses. A number have fallen over entirely as waves continually erode their bases. A 50-metre tall Apostle collapsed on July 3, 2005. Although it was initially thought that one of the Twelve Apostles fell on September 25, 2009 it was later revealed that it was one of the smaller stacks known as The Three Sisters. Other well-known features in Port Campbell National Park created by erosion are the London Arch, Loch Ard Gorge and...

The house was originally built in the 16th century, yet its interiors were extensively restored between the First and Second World Wars by Graham Baron Ash to create a fascinating 20th-century evocation of domestic Tudor architecture.
